Information for group leaders
As a group leader you are responsible for notifying Mela about the members of the research or working group.
If a grant has been awarded in your name to a research or working group for which you are the contact person, you shall be considered the group leader. In this position, you are responsible for notifying Mela about the members of the research or working group, including their names and contact information.
Notification should be provided about the following members:
- Those who work on the project uninterruptedly for at least four months
- Those whose share of the grant is at least 1 502 euros (2024)
- Those whose work on the project is not covered by an employment relationship.
You can notify Mela about the members of the research or working group using the Group leader notification form. You can submit the notification electronically using our e-services or as an attachment using Mela’s secure e-mail service, or by post. The notification form should be submitted as soon as the members of the research or working group are confirmed.
Each member of the research or working group is considered a grant recipient and must apply individually for insurance from Mela.
Notification of changes
A new Group leader notification form must be submitted if a new member is added to your group or if a former member of the team resumes their grant work. The notification must be submitted before the person starts work.
The group leader does not need to submit notification when a member of your group concludes their grant work. Changes of address and personal expenses also do not need to be notified by the group leader. Instead, this information should be provided individually by the grant recipients.
